Terms of Reference for Advisor/Public Relation Officer

He/she will be responsible to plan, develop, put into place and evaluate information and communication strategies that present an organization to the public and other stakeholders to maintain goodwill and understanding between organization and its stakeholders. Use forms of media and communication to build, maintain and manage the reputation of the organization for working directly with AWAZ team to ensure timely support for all activities in accordance with the stipulated procedures and processes. He/she will also monitor publicity and conduct research to find out the concerns and expectations of the organization’s stakeholders and then report and explain the findings to its management;

Under the guidance, advice and support of the Chief Executive, he/she will be responsible for the following:

  1. Planning, developing and implementing PR Strategies for an organization and advise management on communication issues and strategies
  2. Liaising with and answering enquiries from media, individuals and other organization, often via telephone and emails
  3. Present arguments on behalf of an organization to Government, other organizations and special interest groups
  4. Arrange interviews with journalists, prepare and distribute media releases, and liaise with and make statements to the media
  5. Collating and analyzing media coverage
  6. Provide support in writing and editing organization’ reflection, case studies, speeches, articles and annual reports
  7. Preparing and supervising the production of publicity materials, brochures, handouts, direct mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia programmes
  8. Organizing events including press conferences, exhibitions, open days and press tours
  9. Provide information to maintain and update information on the organization’s website
  10. Managing and updating information and engaging with users on Social Media sites such as Twitter and Facebook
  11. Fostering Community relations through events such as open days, visits and through involvement in community initiatives
  12. Managing the PR aspects of a potential crisis situation
  13. Monitor public opinions regarding on organization or particular issues
  14. Any other responsibility assigned by management

Requirement:-

Minimum 10 years’ experience in related field and hold graduation degree in Public Relation or related fields like Communication or journalism, Social Sciences and creative writing may be helpful.
