Strategic Objectives 2018-2022

  • By 2022, AWAZ aims to facilitate provision of formal (basic & secondary education) and non-formal (including life skills based education / SRHR Education, entrepreneurial / vocational education, political and civic rights education) to at least 1 million children, young people and adults;
  • By 2022, AWAZ aims to sensitize and educate 2000 policy community members (at district, provincial and federal levels) and 1 million general community members on formal and non-formal education (defined above)

  • Generate evidence on girls right to education and SRHR of young people
  • Increase opportunities for young people (including girls) for quality basic and secondary education
  • Facilitate access to quality learning environment
  • Facilitate linkages and improve access of young people to technical / vocational skills and education

By 2022, AWAZ aims to improve access of at least 2 million people (including young people) to basic, sexual and reproductive health rights & services

Strategic Intent / Choices 2018-2022

  • Generate evidence on people’s access to health rights and services (IMR, MMR, SRHR, health financing)
  • Work on strengthening policies and strategies that improve access of communities to range of basic and sexual & reproductive (SR) health services
  • Provide awareness among general communities that improve the health of children, women and communities
  • Strengthen referral mechanisms and linking young people with SRH related institutions and services
  • Create enabling policy environment for improving healthcare system

By 2022- AWAZ aims to advocate for and support in development of national / provincial climate change adaptation policies and foster resilience among at least 2 million community members through effective water resource and environmental management

  • Facilitate development of provincial climate change policies and strategies
  • Track the enforcement of law and legal initiatives to combat climate change
  • Increase initiatives to promote resilience and community capacity to water scarcity and stresses
  • Increase initiatives to build community capacity to deal with disasters (both human and natural) through developing early warning systems and implementing DRR policies
  • Increase capacity of stakeholders (including private / corporate sector) and policy community to integrate climate adaptation into planning for water resources and environmental management

By 2022- AWAZ aims to foster national and provincial level peacebuilding networks / forums and facilitate development of effective community-level conflict resolution and prevention mechanisms to counter violent extremism

  • Generate evidence on conflict and extremism triggering factors
  • Develop / adopt resources, strategies and peacebuilding tools (3B / 4D approaches) and mainstream / integrate them into development programmes
  • Enhance cooperation between communities through shared livelihood assets and income generating opportunities
  • Increase cooperation between competing communities over management of natural resources and access to basic social services
  • Create and strengthen network of effective collaborative peacebuilding initiatives and existing CVE systems and feed into wider peacebuilding strategy
