Dr. Nasira Jabeen is Professor of Public Administration and Director of the Institute of Administrative Sciences as well as the Human Resources Development Centre at the University of the Punjab, Lahore. She has a Post Doctorate from the University of Texas, Austin, USin Gender and Governance and PhD from the University of Stirling, UK. She received her Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Southern California, USC, USas well as from the University of the Punjab, Pakistan. Dr. Nasira Jabeen was appointed Professor to the Prince Claus Chair at University of Utrecht, Netherlands for the year 2006-07. She is a National Resource Person for Higher Education Commission (HEC) Faculty Development Programs. She is the recipient of Central Overseas Training Scholarship, Post-doctoral fellowship and the Nishan-e-Haider Scholarship (Presidential Award) based on her excellent academic performance. She is Chairperson of National Curriculum Review Committee for Public Administration, HEC, Pakistan. She is also contributing as the President of Association of Management Development Institutions of Pakistan (AMDIP) to strengthen the linkage among public and corporate sector universities.
Professor Jabeen has experience of working with international development organizations such as UNICEF, Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), Asian Development Bank (ADB), the World Bank, Governance Institutions Network International (GINI), the British Council and the Ministry of Education as Human Resource Development (HRD) Lead Consultant.
She is a Module Writer for the HEC Faculty Development Programs and for UNICEF and a case writer for the LUMS-McGill Social Enterprise Development Program. She has contributed towards teaching at the Civil Services Academy, National Management College and other management institutions. She has published her research work in international and national journals. More recently, she has contributed a chapter on Civil Service System of Pakistan in the book, ‘Public Administration in South Asia’. Her research interests include Governance, Public Management, Human Resource Management, Civil Service Reform, Gender, Organizational Change and Development. Professor Jabeen is serving as chairperson of AWAZCDS-Pakistan. Her passion includes community service and professional development of employees and youth towards citizenship and better organizational performance.
