Awaz Foundation Pakistan: Centre for Development Services (AWAZCDS) is a non-profit and non- government organization, striving for the socio- economic development and political empowerment of the vulnerable populations- especially women and young people across Pakistan. Since its establishment in 1995, Awaz follows rights-based approaches for sustainable development, poverty alleviation and citizen’s empowerment and strives towards establishing more inclusive, democratic and equitable societies. Awaz also strives towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2015-2030. As a member of United Nations’ Social and Economic Council (UNECOSOC) and several other regional and global forums like, Forum Asia, Asia Pacific Regional Coordination Mechanism & Engagement (APRCEM), Asia Democracy Network (ADN), Asia Development Alliance (ADA), Asia CSOs Partnership for Sustainable Development (APSD), Action for Sustainable Development (A4SD), Global Call to Action against Poverty (GCAP), Transparency, Accountability & Partnerships (TAP-Network), Forus International and CIVICUS/AGNA alliance etc. Awaz has emerged as a strong national, regional and global voice from the South. AWAZ has its National Secretariat in country’s capital city Islamabad and operates in whole of Pakistan through its strategically located and selected partner organizations including in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ &K) and Gilgit Baltistan.
