Awaz Foundation Pakistan; Centre for Development Services has been implemented Social Mobilization Project on 30 June, 2011 in 4 rural Union Councils of District Multan with coordination and support of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund Islamabad. The Social  Mobilization Project (Phase III) in new 4 rural Union Councils U/C- 83 Billi wala, U/C- 84 Kabir pur, U/C – 85 Larr, U/C – 90 Qasba Marral, of District Multan has been formally launched in July 2011 and is expected to end in June 2013. The overall purpose of SM project is to mobilize the vulnerable & marginalized communities for their greater and active participation in community development and political empowerment by enhancing their involvement and capacities through different mobilization techniques. Awaz believes community participation is a key to sustainable development and to secure the future of marginalized communities. Awaz selects mainly low-income communities that lack infrastructure and facilities. Subsequent social and development studies have proved lack of physical infrastructure and social facilities are prevalent because of bad governance, lack of political will of selected representatives, poverty and lack of community participation.
